You might investigate the Bose A20 if you don't want a DIY job. Bose is
active noise cancellation in the headphones, and I believe that the A20 in
addition has noise canceling mike. For headphones with passive noise
exclusion, some contesters in this area (K3ZO one notable example) have
moved to the Shure BRH44M, available to hams through Joel W3RFC (therfc.com).
The price is reasonable and is a professional headset combo with excellent
quality. You can hear the mike's audio when you run across K3ZO in this
weekend's CQ160SSB contest, or next weekend in ARRLDXSSB.
Bose QC15 has a mic jack built-in. You can use a third-party mic, such as
the one here (that retails for $30.)
