This week's mini-CWT tests will be special slow-speed versions to celebrate the latest CW Academy graduating class (for more on CW Academy, see <http://www.cwops.org/cwacademy.html>). Please keep your CW speed under 20 wpm to encourage new graduates to join in. Try to resist the temptation to demonstrate your speed demon prowess for this one day; that can be more than a little off-putting to a newcomer. For those of us in North America, a bit of slow-speed relaxation might be just what the doctor ordered after the pressure environment of Sweepstakes.

CWTs are one-hour mini-tests held every Wednesday at 1300Z and 1900Z and Thursday at 0300Z (Wednesday evening in North America). The CWT exchange is simple: your name and CWOps number, or name and state/province/country prefix for non-members. New CWA graduates will be sending CWA in place of the CWOps number or SPC.

Non-members of CWOps are always welcome, not just during this week's special event. Many of our members first found out about and eventually joined the CWOps club by way of the CWTs.

Scoring is one point per QSO, with one multiplier point for each unique call sign worked regardless of the band. See <http://www.cwops.org/cwt.html> for more details. There is no log submission, but we would like participants to please post their scores at 3830scores.com (thanks to Bruce Horn, WA7BNM for making this infrastructure available).

Let's take things easy this week; next week will be back to normal.

73,
Rich VE3KI
CWOps Tests Manager
