I always point out to people who ask me about "amateur" radio; The
"amateur" connotation refers only to the fact that we may accept no
remuneration for the activities we perform under our FCC licenses. That
"amateur" connotation however, makes us no less "professional" as we are or
we wish to achieve in any of the numerous aspects of our hobby. There is
nothing "amateurish" in the amateur radio activities I am pursuing.
