"Tribander, wire antennas and 100w" is the classic setup...many, many hams
are using this config...it is not fair compete with guys with monobanders
and stacks...
For us outside US and EU or JA is very hard build such kind of
stations...yes, work from the Caribbean is great even from a 2 points
country.

There is no "Classic" in the 30-36 hour WPX contests.
Why are you saying that the Low Power category is silly? It happens to be
the most popular category and it can be very competitive.

This actually got me thinking about VK4KW's comment about having too many
categories. I'm only speaking for myself ..as always ..but to me a
category
should be something where ...people actually *want* to compete ..rather
than
just something created to justify a certificate ..and likely will over a
long enough time such that people can set goals ...and compare their
performance both against themselves and others. "Classic" in WW and WPX
just seems natural ..while the overlay for say "tribander, wire antennas,
and 100W" (I think that is a real overlay) just seems ...silly.
