I imagine that they both use the same standard KEY and headphone plugs and
possibly the same mic wiring. Interfacing it with a modern computer is
the tricky part.

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge on interfacing a DX Doubler
with FT5000/3000? Would DX Doubler cabling built for FT1000 work with
the 5000/3000 radios?
