Did anyone watch these races? Did you notice the technology now required to race a sailboat?

I watched every race in the final, both this year and in 2013.

None of the technology now required to race the America's Cup
sailboats is used to propel them - they rely solely on the
wind, waves and currents for that, just as sailboat racers
have always done.

Even sailboat racing is embracing major changes to their sport. Why can't we?

We have already embraced major changes. Unfortunately, some
of the changes we have embraced involve dependence, at times
total dependence, on external communications networks.

If the America's Cup racers were to act likewise, they would
all be powerboat racers. Yet they choose not to do this,
what a bunch of luddites :-)
