For your situation, the Skyhawk will likely give similar performance but
not quite the bandwidth.  How do the center drivens keep from banging
together in wind?

Suggest you consider a long log periodic, gives more bands, is great for
wide band scanning, ok rear and good side rejection.  A Stepper is off the
table if you are worried about plastic end caps because Stepper's many
parts cause lots more causes for worry.
