Unfortunately, I don't think Heil sells the elements separately like they used

Heil's HC-74 is the re-designed HC-4.  But if your new rig has anequalizer, I 
recommend a mic with a flat response (like the HC-6) and usingthe rig's 
capabilities to tailor it to your liking, as Bill suggested.  Tolearn a little 
more about how to do this, read Bob Heil's suggestions forvarious brands, even 
if your radio and mic are not one of the ones hespecifically addresses.  (Bob 
calls his audio settings advice "DSPsettings".)See:
