I have a ring rotor which is maybe 15 years old. It has a separate
direction indicator module. The pot started acting up and finally broke,
so I climbed the tower and removed the indicator unit. At the time I was
thinking, wow this is great, I don't have to take off the motor. I'll
pop in a new pot and get it working again in no time.
Well, I got it down in the shop and find that the thing appears to use
some sort of plastic housing. It has been coated with some sort of
weather proofing paint. I have tried opening the joints with a drywall
knife but can't get anything to move.
Has anyone successfully opened one of these up and replaced the pot?
Does anyone know if Tic Ring is still in business?
