Then why other people should care about what you personally care about?
I read all these comments, and it's all "I, me, me, my".
Someone hasn't left his house for 30 years and now all the DXpeditions
need to be remote?
Another one is unable to build his own station, and he's praising remote
now as "the way to go".
Like it was said, it's a hobby. Let others have their opinions and
respect them. I can definitely understand Paul's frustration. HAM Radio
now is definitely not the HAM Radio we all knew when we were young. So,
let him vent a bit, at least, and don't call him a "troll".
As for remote operation - I think, it's more of "Who benefits?" (or "Cui
bono?

question.
Soon, when most of "old timers" who were able to build their own
stations, would die, we'll have a bunch guys sitting in their apartments
with laptops/high speed internet trying to connect to a limited number
of Remote stations in order to "operate", and the owners of these remote
sites would just start raising $$$ for the service, like it is happening
with everything else on our lives now.
Is it wrong? I don't know.
Would I personally like it? Definitely not.

I could, but that's not how it works with rare DX. That takes a lot of
personal effort, at least for me, with a limited station.
In any case, as I stated, I don't care what's on the other end, which is the
issue under discussion. I'll handle my end appropriately.
