When I'm operating I usually set the speed at 30/32, that seems to me
a balanced speed.

Since many years almost all of the CW I hear in contest is computer or
keyer generated, well timed and with fixed spacing, so for some
operators the only problem might be the excessive speed.

I am surprised that no one had something to say about phone QRS.

It is not uncommon to hear contesters speaking far too quickly for
most of the foreign hams, and to make things worse you have to add the
personal accent.

I am very seldom heard on phone contests but in the past it happened
to me to receive a serial number, say 3742, like:

itlklfrwskmkhotl fvnn thrsvnfrtoo

Huh?
