Some observations on CT 8.52 from this weekend:
1. Bug - When in the midst of selecting a spot from the Announce window,
if a spot comes in over packet, the new spot is immediately grabbed and
the radio QSY'd. Very annoying and confusing. Announce window should be
locked while you're in it so you don't get surprises.
2. Several spurious hangs - program just locked up tight. These were
definatley NOT RF induced as they occurred during receive.
3. Suggestion for version 9 - how about a hot key that automatically sends
your line score to a buddy? Sure would save a lot of typing such as
>t xy1z 7892/673
This could even be augmented with PacketCluster changes to keep a running
score box in the lower corner - how bout that ! real time scoring from
competitors!
4. Query - I recently upgraded rigs from 735 to 765. CT's manual says
genericly that Icom rigs don't do split from the interface -complain
to Icom, not Kenny. But low and behold, the 765 goes in and out of split
perfectly! I have the documentation from icom on the CI-V protocol, and
there is no mention of split! Did kenny find a backdoor? or Did Icom
fix it for the 765 and newer rigs? If so, whats the protocol?
5. Check partial on 2 letters would be a nice option.
