Hi Charlie and Janet. I have had a 990 with CT, RTTY, DX4WIN and other rig
controlling S/W packages and it works very nicely. Yes, you do need the
most recent of the 2 ROM's but I would guess that most all 990's have
it. I don't remember what the number is or even how to tell on my rig. I
know it states it when you do a service test but my manual is buried and I
don't recall the button sequence. Someone will give u the info, I'm sure.
The 990 is a great radio. you won't be sorry.
