Hi Ken:

Okay, John Evans (N3HBX) has confirmed that the problem
is NOT defining "CW Port" in the initial setup screens
(or the .bin file).

It appears that there is a problem with radio 1/2 initialization on the
parallel port as well. John reports:

To summarize the first problem:

The PTT (and STROBE) lines on the LPT port are asserted when CT is
started and given a file name which does not exist OR a binary file
which has "NONE" for the CW Port, regardless of whether the mode
is CW or PHONE. The PTT line remains "stuck" on unless LPT1 is
assigned as the CW Port. This took me quite a while to find! :-(

This behavior has apparently changed since 9.22!

It appears that Radio 1/2 select may not be initialized correctly,
but "ALT-." fixes that.

Thanks for your help!

Mark, KD4D

Mark,
Yes that appears to work! I created a new directory (CT.10)
into which I put the executable, and all other needed files. I also
created "doCT10.bat" and "undoCT10.bat". The software will load now
without turning on the radio - provided the "test" file has in it an
assignment of the CW keyer to LPT1. There remains one idiosyncrasy. When
you get to the logging screen you are in "Radio 1" and indeed the screen
shows what band radio 1 is in. However, when you key a radio (hitting
F1 perhaps) you key Radio 2! This will persist till you hit "ALT" &
"period", i.e., change radios. It then seems to sort itself out.
     See you tomorrow.

Regards, John.
