Well it's a long day, you can't get 5.5mbps in both direction at the same

Actually I should have said you can get 5.5Mb's in both directions at the
same time

Peter,
I have done various tests with the rg1000's in point to point and point to
multipoint, you have a total amount of bandwidth available of about 5.5Mb/s.
Since the radio is half-duplex you can't get 5.5Mb's in both directions

Subject: [Karlnet] RG-1000 CPE with Karlnet - Symmetry question
When two Karlnet SR-4250 (or a 4200 in one and a 4250 in another) are
programmed into the RG-1000 for use as a point to point link, shouldn't this
result in a symmetrical operation. i.e., same upload and download speeds
within reason?
Has anyone tried a bench test? Something like a laptop attached to each
RG-1000 and doing a file transfer? We have seen 4-4.5 mbps FTP transfer
rates, which is what we would expect in a lab environment. Using FTP, we
would expect some non-symmetry, but if the download-upload speed differs by
more than 2:1, we would believe there are issues with the radio/software.
We realize that the real world of networks being attached including radio
characteristics on the path will affect symmetry. That is why we have been
doing bench tests to keep the radios off other networks.
