My situation calls for an inverter to convert 12vdc to 110vac. And it seems
that they lockup either when they overheat or just whenever they feel like
it... ;-) Which isn't that often.
But no Im not saying that it is all power related.
But I have had a few flashroms units do what you are saying.

We have installed remote reboot pagers so I don't have to drive to all those
locations all the time.. ;-)

Yes I am powering the flashroms with 110v. Most of them are in standard
tower cases. But I have one in a rack mount case with a more industrial
power supply, and it still locks up once in a while. The location where I
am having the most problems is at a cell tower location. I have not put in
a UPS because the power at the location is supposed to be redundant with a
generator backup, but I do not know the details of how their power backup is
running. I have not tried putting a UPS in at that location. Are you
suggesting that power surges or fluctuations are causing this problem? What
do you mean when you say that your inverters are locking up? What inverter?

John

Can you give more details about your system?
I have 19 flashrom units in the field and I have a problem with my inverters
locking up. But that is a power issue and not the flashroms fault...
Are you powering these flashrom units with 110v??? Or are they on some kind
of a battery backup system?
