KarlNet Announces Low-Cost Hardware Replacement to SC-4700 Client Drivers

Dublin, OH - September 15, 2003 - KarlNet, Inc., the leading solutions
provider for the wireless broadband market, announced today that it is
releasing its new low-cost client hardware as a replacement for its PC-based
SC-4700 client driver. KarlNet's Residential Subscriber Unit (RSU), which
unites a cost-effective processor with industrial-strength toughness,
represents an affordable, convenient, and versatile alternative to the
older, more intrusive client driver, which required modifications to
subscribers' PCs. At the same time, the company announced that it will
discontinue the SC-4700 client driver.

"The SC-4700 client driver was developed at a time when the cost of wireless
hardware was prohibitive," said Doug Karl, CEO of KarlNet. "Historically,
it has offered a viable alternative to purchasing standalone wireless
clients. However, the RSU offers significant advantages over the SC-4700
client driver. It is far easier to install and less expensive to maintain,
is hardware and OS independent, and offers far more versatility by providing
our customers with an Ethernet device they connect to a hub, thus providing
wireless connectivity to multiple devices instead of a single device, as was
the case with the SC-4700 client driver. It also eliminates the need to
install special-purpose network drivers. All of this is good news for our
customers. However, we also understand that the SC-4700 client drivers, in
conjunction with some older radio cards, continue to be used for network
maintenance and new site survey network operations, and we will continue to
support the existing SC-4700 client driver until December 31st."

The new RSU can be purchased through KarlNet's Channel Partners and OEMs.

**The SC-4700 Turbocell Client for Windows was removed from the License-it
site because we no longer develop drivers for newer cards. If these license
are to be used with older Orinoco Silver p/n 012938/B(Hermes I), or Gold
cards ie. p/n 014916/D (Hermes I), then please let us know and we will make
licenses available for submitted P.O. Windows Service Patch or updates
causes conflicts with our existing drivers that are problematic to end
users.

I was talking with Winncom today and they said that Karlnet is discontinuing
the SC-4700 Client License. We have about 60-70 of these deployed along
with Satellite units. Anyone heard about this?
