Jeff,
I use the LPT port with my laptop, but like a desktop. Laptops are no
different that desktops in this regard. Never had a problem with it in
fixed/portable setups (DXpeditions, Field Day, etc.). We had some RF junk
leak out of the laptop during our MQP/OQP adventures from the car, but I
assume this was only a factor because of proximity to the antenna.
