The 10-minute rule is still in effect according to the 2004 rules and this
applies to band and mode. A mode change is the same thing as a band change.
I checked on this with N1ND and he confirmed it.
Nothing is said about "band changes per hour" for IARU Multi-Single entries.
4.2. Multi Operator, Single Transmitter, Mixed Mode only
4.2.1. Must remain on a band and mode for at least 10 minutes before
changing bands or modes.
4.2.2. Only one transmitted signal is allowed at any given time.
4.2.3. All operators must observe the amateur radio regulations of their
country at all times.
4.2.4. Violation of the band change rules will reclassify the entry as a
Checklog.

I did not intend to get off the subject of NA but I thought this might be
worth mentioning.

I do not recall when 1059 was released so this brings up a question. Has 59
been used in the M/S category in IARU? Dave, you remember the problems we
had in the ARRL 10 last year? Had something to do with mixed-mode or
something. You had identified the problem and it was going to be resolved
in 1060. I had to go back to 1058 after going qrt the first night. It is
all in the archives if you need to refresh your memory. I am wondering if
this same issue could arise in IARU or is it something that was unique to
the 10m contest (a single band contest)?
