The Update program automatically sets the bit rate.
The Orion can't do 4800 bps. It's fixed at 57, 600. So whatever was
going on that took 24 hours shouldn't have been happening, and
unless your Orion is broken, something else in your system is
hokey.
A normal update only takes a few minutes. Even an update with
error checking turned off, doesn't take but maybe 10 minutes.
If it wouldn't run with error checking turned off, then you have some
sort of system or cabling problem.
