There is no real problem with heat on the front panel.  No more so 
than any other device chock full of power dissipating electronics, 
and any other radio you might own.  Run RTTY at full output for a 
few hours solid and of course it will get warm.  Much of the gear (the 
Orion being the ONLY exception) in my shack is loaded with those 
antique vacuum bottles, so on a relative basis the Orion is as cool 
as the proverbial cucumber :-)

There are vent slots at the front of the box, and at the rear.  if you 
want to stack other stuff on top, there's plenty of clear area to do 
that in between.

This whole "heat problem" thing is the stuff of urban ... er .. internet 
legends ...
