Skip, opinions vary. I operate CW exclusively and have enjoyed the
stability that v2.056 has brought. The sweep is faster in v2 than v1
with the hardware mod. If you do the mod, you can still return to
loading the v1 firmware if you find you prefer it. The primary
complaints I've heard about v2 on SSB have dealt with SP and low
frequency cut off. Seems as many of those who have stayed with v1
are running v1.373b5 now. Others on the reflector can give you more
info. I'd just try v2.056. It will run fine without the sweep if
you've not done the mod.
