Hi All,
Thanks to all of you for you help with understanding the in and outs of
PSK31 and the Orion1 & Orion11. We managed to get both up and running. On
the Orion1... we went with the iMic & the USB connection, and a special
built patch cable using RF shielded wire and keying the Rig with the VOX.
On the Orion11 we are using the sound card and the same special built cable
both are working nicely, however, as with anything we had some anomolies.
On the Orion1 we are currently down, but with the warm weather in the 40's
we've established that the coax is faulty and with the help of some hot
water we were able to thaw out the ground to replace the coax then found
that we were losing half our radial system because of a intermittent
connection on the attachment to the DX88 Vertical....say high VSWR!. We'll
get that taken care of tomorrw and should be back up and running by the
week-end.
Now I know the neighbors think I'm a little off....here's this guy in a
short sleeve shirt out on the lawn pouring hot water and running a garden
hose at 28 degrees. But Hey!, here in Iowa when hell freezes over, the
buses usually run only about two hours late.
