Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2017 Dec 27 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. Region 2692 (N18W41, Axx/alpha) continued to decay and was inactive. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain very low all three days (27-29 Dec).

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background values.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels all three days (27-29 Dec) and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels all three days.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were indicative of waning influences from a negative polarity CH HSS. Solar wind speeds ranged from 400 to 480 km/s. Total field strength ranged from 1 to 7 nT while the Bz component ranged from +/- 5 nT. The phi angle was negative.

Forecast: The solar wind environment is expected to return to nominal conditions by day two (28 Dec) and remain benign through day three (29 Dec).

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was quiet to unsettled.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be mostly quiet to unsettled on 27-28 Dec. Conditions are expected to be mostly quiet on 29 Dec.
