Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity remained very low. Region 2692 (N18W29, Bxo/beta) continued to exhibit decay. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available imagery.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels over the next three days (26-28 Dec).
Energetic Particles
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to remain at moderate levels all three days of the forecast period (26-28 Dec). The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to continue at background levels throughout the forecast period.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters indicated a waning conditions from a negative polarity CH HSS. Total field strength ranged between 3-9 nT while the Bz component varied between +/-5 nT. Solar wind speeds ranged from 450 to 475 km/s. Phi angle remained in a negative solar sector.
Forecast: The solar wind environment is expected to remain at enhanced levels on day one (26 Dec) due to waning influence of a negative polarity CH HSS. A trend towards background levels is expected over days two and three (27-28 Dec).
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at quiet to unsettled levels on day one (26 Dec) as effects from a negative polarity CH HSS begin to subside. Mostly quiet conditions are expected on days two and three (27-28 Dec).
