Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Jan 23 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available satellite imagery.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels throughout the forecast period (23-25 Jan).
Energetic Particle
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was steady at background levels.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at moderate levels for the forecast period (23-25 Jan) due to CH HSS influence. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters were slightly enhanced under the influence of a negative polarity CH HSS. Solar wind speed decreased from approximately 535 km/s to near 475 km/s. Total field ranged from 3-5 nT while the Bz component was between +/-4 nT. Phi angle was oriented in a negative (towards) sector.
Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to remain enhanced but in gradual decline on days one and two (23-24 Jan) as the CH HSS continues to wane. A return to nominal solar wind conditions is expected on day three (25 Jan).
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet to unsettled levels.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at mostly quiet conditions for the next three days (23-25 Jan).
