Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2018 Dec 28 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low and the disk remained spotless. No CMEs were observed in available imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to continue at very low levels on 28-30 Dec.

Energetic Particle

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 Mev electron flux was at normal levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at normal to moderate levels on 28-30 Dec and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to persist at background levels throughout the forecast period.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters became enhanced after 27/1800 UTC due to the influence of a positive polarity coronal hole high speed stream. Solar wind speeds reached a peak of around 625 km/s just before 1000 UTC and periods of southward Bz were observed between 27/2000-28/0600 UTC.

Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to remain enhanced on 28-30 Dec due to (+)CH HSS influence.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: Active and isolated G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm conditions were observed this period in response to (+)CH HSS influence.

Forecast: Periods of active conditions are likely for the remainder of 28 Dec through 29 Dec due to continued CH HSS influence. Quiet to unsettled activity is expected on 30 Dec under waning CH HSS influence.
