Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2019 Aug 15 1230 UTC.

Solar Activity

24 hr Summary: Solar activity was very low under a spotless visible disk. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.

Forecast: Solar activity is expected to remain very low on 15-17 Aug.

Energetic Particles

24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at high levels with a maximum flux of 4,790 pfu at 14/1835 UTC. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels.

Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to continue at moderate to high levels on 15-17 Aug. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels.

Solar Wind

24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters reflected near background solar wind conditions. Wind speeds gradually decreased from near 450 km/s to around 420 km/s. Total field was steadily between 3-5 nT, and the Bz component was +/- 3 nT. Phi angle was predominately in a positive solar sector.

Forecast: The solar wind environment is expected to return to predominantly ambient, back-ground levels over the course of 15 Aug. Conditions should remain relatively quiet until 16 Aug when an anticipated CH HSS moves into a geoeffective position.

Geospace

24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels throughout the period.

Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at mostly quiet levels for 15 Aug. Unsettled periods are expected on 16 Aug as a CH HSS moves into geoeffective position. Conditions should begin to return to background levels on 17 Aug.
