Here is the current forecast discussion on space weather and geophysical activity, issued 2021 Mar 03 1230 UTC.
Solar Activity
24 hr Summary: Solar activity reached low levels. Region 2806 (S31W08, Cro/beta) displayed slight growth, but was inactive throughout the period. Region 2807 (S17E37, Cao/beta) exhibited overall growth and was responsible for a C1 flare at 03/0007 UTC, as well as multiple mid-level B-class flares. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
Forecast: Solar activity is expected to be at very low levels with a chance for C-class flaring on 03-05 Mar.
Energetic Particle
24 hr Summary: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux reached high levels and the greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained at background levels.
Forecast: The greater than 2 MeV electron flux is expected to be at moderate to high levels on 03-05 Mar due to HSS influence. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux is expected to remain at background levels.
Solar Wind
24 hr Summary: Solar wind parameters reflected persistent negative polarity CH HSS effects. Solar wind speed increased from 580 km/s to near 700 km/s. Total field strength began the period near 11 nT before decreasing to average near 5 nT for the second half of the period, while the Bz component was between +6/-7 nT. Phi angle was predominantly oriented in a negative (towards) solar sector.
Forecast: Solar wind parameters are expected to continue to be enhanced through 03 Mar as the negative polarity HSS persists. A slow return to nominal levels is expected on 04 Mar. By late on 05 Mar, another enhancement is expected as a positive polarity CH HSS moves into geoeffective position.
Geospace
24 hr Summary: The geomagnetic field ranged from unsettled to G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm levels due to CH HSS activity.
Forecast: The geomagnetic field is expected to be at unsettled to active levels, with isolated periods of G1 (Minor) storming possible, on 03 Mar as negative polarity CH HSS activity persists. Quiet to unsettled levels are expected on 04 Mar as activity slowly diminishes. On 05 Mar, a positive polarity CH HSS is expected to become geoeffective causing unsettled to active levels late in the UTC day.
