Hi Bill,

Sounds like you are having a classic case of fuel pump noise.
Find it and bypass it right at the pump motor with a 0.01 uF cap.
Some cases are bad enough to also require pasing a few turns of
the wires to the pump through a ferite torroid core (again right
at the pump motor).
