All,
A few weeks ago, I wrote for help concerning some under cabinet touch
lighting (by a company called Hera) that I have installed in my newly
remodeled kitchen. I was having problems in that when I transmitted, the
lights would go through their dimmer stages.
Some of you suggested that I add a 4.7K resistor and a 10 uH inductor to the
sense line. That did no good and made the sensor not work.
I did originally have an Amidon FT-240-77 torroid wrapped on the AC mains
end of the dimmer switch unit. However, this was wrapped close to the AC
outlet, NOT the dimmer unit.
This weekend, I re-did things so that the torroid was close to the switch
unit. I used an FT-240-77 torroid and put about 16 turns on one unit (all I
could get with the plug on the end of the cord) and 25 turns on a second
dimmer unit (this unit was hardwired so it had no plug to interfere). I
then tested the units running full legal limit on my tribander on 10 m. I
received NO interference on the lights. I haven't tried other bands, but
10m was the worst band previously. I have no torroids on the sensor lines,
but just on the AC power line. It appears the problem has been solved.
I will let the list know of any further testing or adjustments that I do.
