Many of us would benefit from a reliable battery maintenance
charger for backup and portable batteries - but the problem
has been suffering overcharge or troublesome cycling.
In the search for a low-RFI and properly designed battery
maintenance charger I have found the following. Sure would
appreciate any experienced/informed feedback about specific
The Xantrex TrueCharger appears to be intentionally RFI-free
and designed for relibility ...
... but they are $116. for the base model:
Then there are a variety of maintainers that also claim desulfating
circuitry, and they may be found for between $9.99 (on sale) up to
Walmart had this one on display today:
Schumacher XM1-5 Maintainer, 1.5-Amp $20.
I guess we'd have to know what microprocessor and circuit they are
using to know how it really functions and if it does not trash nearby
radios. Anyone checked one out?
