I have not detected any RFI from the inverter. I use a Radar Engineer's Model 240A for a receiver. My car's engine, an Avalon, is a bigger problem. I use my Tek scope, a TDS 210, to get a larger display and to print out the scope pictures.

The Astron inverter has a very precise 60 Hz modified sine wave, which you can use to trigger the sweep to freeze the 60 cycle RFI pattern.

Alan,

That caught my attention. When using the 240A with an external scope, I thought the 240A performed its own internal 60 Hz sync function. Or, does that internal function only affect the 240A's LCD display? Sounds like the 240A has an output with a standard 1Vp-p video level for use with a scope. But then in that configuration, you need the external 60 Hz reference for scope triggering.

 How are emissions?
