Go to 1000Bulbs and buy all the rough service bulbs that you need.  Go to
http://www.txlampparts.net/ to purchase 3 way lamp cord switches that
will dim the bulb to half light.  Use them on all lamps.  bulbs last for 10
years so far and no noise.
