Hi Lee,
As you well know, the null on the loop is very sensitive to position. I
just oriented the loop to a position without having the benefit of
seeing the receiver response. Therefore, as stated in the report, the
null is not as deep as it could be. In retrospect, I would use a power
splitter between the Perseus and my hand held noise receiver, which has
a very sensitive S-meter, so I could adjust the position of the loop for
the best null.

So Tom,
Am I reading your data correctly, I see only a 9.7 dB difference as
the loop is rotated from broadside to inline with the vertical source in
the first two columns of A and B. Or am I missing something? My Eznec
models of loops show at low angles a near perfect null for vertical
polarized signals broadside to the loop and a near perfect null for
horizontal polarized signal inline with the loop? As in your A and B
tests .

Some of you have mentioned in the past about using a tuned loop for
tracking RFI. A question has sometimes arose about the direction of the
null of the loop. Larry Benko, W0QE, and I did some polarity tests using
various orientations of both the transmitting short dipole and a
receiving loop and a receiving short dipole. The results are shown here:
