Had the same problem with the 120 volt wired detectors. I noticed that the
circuit board in the 120 volt units was showing
signs of heat from the power resistor, circuit board was turning brown.
Replace the wired units with single not wired units
from Lowes, etc. with 9 volt battery. fixed the false alarms. also
installed smoke detectors with the house alarm system
that are wireless for additional protection. No false alarms and no worry
about circuit boards turning brown.
