The facility to my east is a firestation, and then the airport. I have not
checked the firestation very closely, but will do so as several folks have
suggested.
I have walked most of the neighborhood with my portable shortwave receiver and
loop antenna. They worked very well for me last time, but I have been unable to
hear the noise with my portable shortwave set this time.
I will try to get out for an audio check if the wind ever dies down.

Sounds like 'sparking, arcing' wonder if power xfrm arcing internal so maybe
harmonics of 'arc' not getting out on lower bands ?
Wonder if walk on a quiet eve would yeild any 'buzzing' , 'arcing' sounds.
