Jim,
Chances are maintaining the battery of an EV at 100% state of charge will
reduce battery life, not extend it. If he has the smaller battery model, it has
about 175 miles of range, so that may be why he feels the need to keep it fully
charged. But it doesn’t "trickle charge" like a lead acid battery. It should
be maintained at about 80% SOC and that can be achieved in a few hours.
In any case the RDI probably means the verger is not installed correctly and/or
operating properly. See
https://group.mercedes-benz.com/innovation/drive-systems/electric/esprinter.html
which states:
"...the new eSprinter is capable of charging with both alternating current (AC)
and direct current (DC). The on-board charger, which converts the current in
the vehicle when charging with alternating current, for example at a Wallbox,
has a maximum output of 11 kilowatts. The new eSprinter can be charged with up
to 115⁵ kilowatts at fast-charging stations..."

Be that as it may be, it doesn't give him the right to create RFI. Take the
Sprinter back to the dealer.
Electric is a new vehicle and is not exempt....
Good luck,
