It was a very frustrating contest for me. Having to use the back up rig did
not work out. The IC-735 filters are too wide for RTTY and I was unable to
get the Datong external filter to work. I was at the mercy of too many close
signals I could not filter out. I could hear 4 or 5 signals at the same time
and no print on any of them. I did manage to work 44 calls, but it was a
scary experience. I sure will be glad to get the Paragon back and working.
There were some I may have called and did not send the exchange to. I hope
they realize that other signals covered them up and I didn't know if they
came back or not. My thanks to John, W0DC and Raj, VE6RAJ, for their kind
and encouraging words when they worked me. The Paragon should be back this
week. Look for me in the next one.

The above shows you what happens when you don't have the right equipment,
get frustrated and quit.
