Hi all:

It has come to our attention that there could be a problem for DX stations
that use version v5.01 or v5.02 (I believe these to be freeware versions) of
RTTY by WF1B for the 2002 ARRL RTTY Roundup. Apparently they will most
likely NOT be able to create a correctly formatted Cabrillo log using the
Cabrillo.exe utility that comes with the program. The sent serial number
will most likely be missing from the Cabrillo log, therefore your log will
be rejected by the ARRL robot as being incomplete.

After you create the Cabrillo log, open it with a plain ASCII text reader
like Notepad or Wordpad and make sure that your sent serial numbers are
recorded. If they are not, the following options are available:

1: Obtain and use one of the available Cabrillo conversion programs to
format the log properly.

Or;

2: As a last resort, send your xxxxx.all and xxxxx.sum files (where xxxxx is
your call sign) to edlyn@california.com . You MUST put your call sign and
RTTYRU in the subject of the e-mail. GØAZT has volunteered to convert your
.all file to the Cabrillo format and send it back to you. You then must
submit the corrected Cabrillo log to RTTYRU@arrl.org in order for your log
to be processed by the contest robot and receive back your numbered receipt
or a message about correcting any additional problems the robot may detect.

Please note this should not affect logs from US stations using these
versions of the WF1B software and Cabrillo converter. If you have
questions, you may contact either GØAZT at edlyn@california.com or me at
n1nd@arrl.org Many thanks to Eddie GØAZT for volunteering to assist
stations with problems with the WF1B program.

Thanks and 73
