Having completed my first full pass through the Sprint logs, a few
questions have come to mind.
First, as was suggested by several in their soapbox comments, is there a
consensus on whether or not to retain the 3 QSO in between, work dupe,
rule? As an aside, now that it is supported by at least 1 of the software
developers, I kind of like the idea. Now this is not meant as a plug for
that particular software to the exclusion of others, and I have spoken to
at least one other developer about adding it to his. That being said,
however, I do want to personally thank W5XD and K5DJ for their continued
support.
Second, and again this may also be software related, I received 63
logs. Those logs revealed 133 different worked calls, some with apparently
a decent number of QSO's worked (100+) based upon the exchanges. As I
mentioned at the start, I was willing to accept your logs in almost any
format and some of you took me up on it. I was able to convert every one
of them to Cabrillo format to try to make the log checking uniform. So any
thoughts on how to get more of those who participated to submit a log?
Last, if you had one suggestion to make that you feel would improve the
RTTY Sprint and perhaps increase participation, what would it be? I am
just looking for your input at this point as any major change would have to
be coordinated with the other modes as we do like to keep some semblance of
uniformity.
I look forward to your comments.
