I use the ACOM 1000 for all modes, including heavy use for RTTY. Typically I only run it at 600 watts out, but have contested with it at 800 watts out for extended times. I find that is sufficient power for contesting. No problems.

Of course, when I need to work a new one, no problem with as much as 1200 watts out for limited periods of time. Not often do that though.

This is a wonderful amp.

Hello friends,

are there any RTTY and RTTY-contest operators using the ACOM1000
amplifier? I am interested in the performance and behaviour of this
amp when challenged by heavy duty RTTY transmitting. ACOM claims
output in the order of 1000 watts. Svetlana specifies the 4CX800A
maximum ratings with 2500V/800mA and typical linear operation
with 2200V/550mA giving 750W output. What are the typical plate voltages
and currents of the ACOM1000 in RTTY mode?
