First my apologies for the bandwidth as this is for those who know about
my ongoing battle with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia and are interested.
Everyone else should delete this now.
I had lab work and a hematology appointment this afternoon. My white
blood cell count was up to 67,000 and the doctor decided it is time to
again do chemotherapy. The treatment will start May 17 and will
initially be the same as two years ago. This means one week of treatment
each month for four to six months. As you noticed, I talked the doctor
into starting the treatment after Dayton in case there are more side
effects than last time.
However this time after the regular treatment I will have a Rutxin
treatment once per week for four consecutive weeks. The Rutxin should
increase the length of time before I will again need to do another cycle
of chemotherapy. The doctor said that this cycle of treatment might be
harder on my immune system so I will take antibiotics twice weekly and
antiviral medications daily for the entire 4-6 months.
Getting old is heck, but at least I am still vertical
