Amen to both of Jim's points. A nice "up" is all that is needed; often wonder if the "band/dx police" have ever worked them - be nice out there.

Dennis, don't feel bad.  When he first showed up on 20m RTTY last evening, I
blew it by calling transceive, he was listening UP but not announcing it.

I finally got him around 9:40 p.m. local time.

The same thing happened on 40 meter CW this morning. The op was calling QRZ, I
called a couple of times, then some IDIOT at 20 over 9 sent "AD1C QRT" on top
of the DX frequency.  A few minutes later, YV0D was saying "JA only".

It pays to listen, but you can't hear what the DX station doesn't send!
