DXLab is a free suite of 8 applications that automatically and seamlessly
interoperate:
1. WinWarbler
- supports RTTY operation using the MMTTY engine and an external modem
(e.g. KAM, PK232, MFJ) for two-signal or diversity decoding
- supports PSK31 and PSK63 operation using the PSKCORE engine, with the
ability to decode all signals in a 4 kHz band segment and extract heard
callsigns
- generates CW via software timing or external modem (WinKey support is
under development)
- provides a voice keyer for phone operation
- includes comprehensive macro commands useable in all modes, with GPS
support
- logs via DXKeeper, with optional automatic real-time upload to eQSL.cc
- accomplishes transceiver control via Commander, including automatic QSY
to place a signal at the optimal audio offset and accurate logging of QSO
frequencies
2. Commander
- controls up to 3 HF transceivers from Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu, TenTec, K2,
or FlexRadio with 1-click switching, or automatic switching based on
frequency
- provides 10 banks of 10 memories, each including RX bandwidth (where
supported) and a text description
- displays settings for frequency-dependent devices like tuners and
amplifiers
- supports 8 user-defined command sequences, each invocable with a
mouse-click or function key
3. DXKeeper
- provides logging and award tracking (DXCC, VUCC, TOP, WAZ, WPX, WAS,
WAC, IOTA, Counties), with independent tracking for QSL cards, eQSL.cc, and
LotW
- logs CQs and unsuccessful calls, and generates UK-required log reports
- supports all 3 Callbook CDROMs
- generates QSL cards or labels, and addresses envelopes or generates
address labels
- synchronizes with eQSL.cc and/or LotW
- generates optimal DXCC submissions including QSL cards and LotW credits
- imports ADIF files; exports ADIF, Cabrillo, or tab-delimited files
- provides comprehensive sorting and filtering, with the ability to
modify QSOs en masse and create scripts for repeatable operations
- accomplishes transceiver control via Commander
4. Pathfinder
- locates QSL route information from more than 100 web-accessible sources
5. SpotCollector
- captures DX and WWV spots from up to 4 Telnet clusters, the DX Summit
web cluster, and a local packet cluster (via TNC)
- automatically combines multiple spots of the same DX station (on the
same band in the same mode) into a single entry
- color-codes DX spots based on "need" (based on DXCC progress in a
specified DXKeeper log)
- DX spots can be filtered by band, mode, continent, spotter location,
and "need" (based on DXCC progress in a specified DXKeeper log)
- double-clicking a DX spot directs Commander to set the correct
transceiver frequency (or if split, frequencies) and mode, and directs
DXView to rotate the antenna to the correct bearing
- displays WWV, A-index, and K-index parameters over the last solar
revolution
6. DXView
- provides a world map that continuously displays the solar terminator
and auroral zone boundaries (based on the current K-index as supplied by
SpotCollector)
- plots DX locations from callsigns, latitude/longitude, grid squares,
and/or Iota tags
- plots DX spots from SpotCollector with independent filtering;
double-clicking on a plotted spot QSYs the transceiver and rotates the
antenna
- plots logged QSOs from DXKeeper
- displays DXCC information from DX callsigns and Iota tags, including
award progress information from DXKeeper
- displays country maps of more than 270 DXCC entities
- computes sunrise/sunset times for your QTH and a selected DX location
for the next 30 days
- controls AlfaSpid, ARSWIN, Heath, Hygain, M2, SARtek, TIC, and Yaesu
rotators
7. PropView
- uses the IONCAP engine to generate a graphical 24-hr propagation
forecast between your QTH and a specified location (can obtain specified
location from DXView)
- monitors the IARU/NCDXC HF beacon network, automatically QSYing your
transceiver (via Commander) and rotating your antenna (via DXView) to check
each beacon in a schedule you assemble
8. Launcher
- launches, minimizes, restores, or terminates a specified subset of
DXLab applications with a single mouse click
- indicates the availability of new development releases of any DXLab
application
All DXLab applications are available via www.qsl.net/dxlab ; online
documentation can be reviewed without first downloading or installing
software.

Hi all,
I have been looking at changing my logging software.
I need something that will track my DXCC, WAZ, WAS etc, import/export ADIF
and do post event logging. I do not need contest logging, or real time
logging really, although if the software could interface with MMTTY, so much
the better. If I import an ADIF file after a contest, it would be useful if
it could tell me which countries were new ones. LoTW is also used here.
So far, I have been trying to decide between DXBase and DX4WIN, but I can't
quite make up my mind.
Any ideas?
