Maybe that's what happens if you don't provide your email address?

All of my certificates have been renewed already, most of them in September of last year.

For every certificate that was going to expire I got an email reminder from the LoTW system.

And they load in fine if you follow the book, no need to apply for a new one.

Did any of you know that your LoTW certificates have to be renewed every
year? I found out the hard way last night after trying to upload my XE
RTTY log. The program continually crashed for no apparent reason, just
before I tried to sign the .adif file. After much head scratching, I
found my certificate, which I originally got on Jan 20, 2004 had
expired.

Normally, one can renew the certificate easily by selecting a menu
option, but once it has expired, that option no longer exists. You have
to apply for a new one. Too bad one does not get a warning of any kind -
at least I didn't.

So check your certs, guys, and don't get caught short like me.
