USOS caused me problems using my "chatting" program MixW. Once I unchecked 
or turned-off Unshift on Space, my problems with garbage output was solved. 
I haven't had those problems with MMTTY, but I only use MMTTY for 
contesting. If the receiving station reports problems, try changing USOS 
off, then back on under varying conditions for a report.
