Bob,

It is very easy to fall into the mindset of, "Gee, I didn't get what I needed
out of that dxpedition" so it was a failure. That is anything but the truth.
While stated goals are nice, things happen that may change the course of
events. Think about field day. I am not excusing the dxpeditions because some
do fail miserably in reaching their stated goals but lets's be honest. Some do
list (fill in the needed modes or bands) what they will work or when they will
work and do something entirely different. To them, put them on that list of
scofflaws. BTW, my list isn't so short anymore. As for listening patiently,
wasn't that the norm before packet clusters and internet spotting? While you
may get more bang for your time by waiting for the spots and then pouncing, you
are missing some of the joy of operating. If I worked everything now, what
would I do tomorrow? I'm grateful there are still needed ones. Yes, I'm
frustrated at times by what I haven't worked but hopefully, there
 will be a tomorrow.

  73,
  Jim W5QM
