Seriously though, this is totally inappropriate use of the RTTY

These poor bastards and I, quite frankly, probably didn't even know
about the beacon(s).
Why not be a nice guy and explain it to us before the contest,
including how much
bandwidth we must protect for them?

Oh NO! I know what the beacons do, and I am not about to give them
8 kc just to listen for something that isn't there. That smacks too
much of the Lids who expect you to move because "We've been using
this frequency for a 100 years. And, when the ARRL starts issuing my
license, they can write their own rules and make them compatible with
THEIR band plan. Until then, I'll use the FCC rules.

Of course my next question has to be: Why didn't you put these
beacons in the "DX windows"? Then you could operate the contest and
not have to worry that there would be plenty of self-appointed beacon
guardians available to police the beacon frequencies.

Well, my question is why in hell you placed it that low in the band.
There is absolute waste land on ALL bands, for example 14132.00

Sorry guys, you don't "own" that frequency.
