Hi Guys and thanks for taking the time to respond. As I mentioned, I'm no 
threat of winning anything, but just enjoy contesting, period. When I do 
feel like I can run stations (not very often) I'll go to a frequency and 
"qrl qrl de k9mi?" a couple of times just to make sure. Maybe that is a "lid 
alert"...ha I don't know. I also listen all the time myself with my headset, 
but at a much lower volume. I really feel like I can tune in a station a lot 
better by listening to it.

Back to listening mode (I guess that should have been "reading mode".
